For 1984 the M platform Fifth Avenue dropped the New Yorker prefix, and Chrysler subsequently sold only the E platform model line under the New Yorker name. A minor exterior styling update brought wraparound taillamps and chrome set headlamps, the 2.6 liter engine became standard with a turbocharged 2.2 liter four optional at 140 horsepower, and the seats were restyled with a pillowed design, with the Mark Cross package replaced by a leather option.
