The Mark IV Mini was in 1983 the last full year of its series, made by British Leyland, whose small car business was now the Austin Rover Group, and mechanically it shared the A Plus engine, 12 inch wheels and front disc brakes with the Metro. Production volumes were reduced as British Leyland concentrated on the Metro as its key supermini, though the Mini continued. It was the last full year of the Mark IV series, which ended in 1984.
