1983 BMW 6 Series

Automobiles

The M635CSi, introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1983, was the first of the M6 models, and over its production run from 1983 through 1989, 5,855 M635CSi and M6 cars were built, including 1,767 for the North American market. In 1983 the automatic transmission of the E24 was upgraded to the four speed ZF 4HP22. The M635CSi shared its engine with the M1 supercar of 1978 to 1981. The automatic version of the coupe, in the same year, used the new four speed gearbox.
