1980 Lincoln Continental

Automobiles

Lincoln was the final American brand to downsize for 1980. The sixth generation Continental became the counterpart of the newly introduced Continental Mark VI, and delivered the best year to year fuel economy improvement in Ford history, 38 percent, with a large cut in curb weight and a 4 speed overdrive transmission. It was among the most advanced Fords, with electronic fuel injection and a digital instrument panel and trip computer. It was offered only for 1980, and re released as the Town Car for 1981.
