After 1980 Kingswood passenger cars were cancelled, replaced by the downsized Commodore, which Holden had released two years earlier. The Kingswood passenger car and panel van ceased production with the demise of the HZ series in 1980, but the Kingswood name survived via the utility that comprised part of the WB series range manufactured between 1980 and 1985. The 1980 Kingswood passenger car was the last, with the nameplate surviving on the WB utility to 1985, after the 1978 launch of the Commodore.
