In 1980 the Landau was built as 1,390 petrol and 1,581 ethanol cars, so that ethanol powered cars were now the majority, all in navy blue. A flyer for the 1980 Ford Landau shows the car as the top of the Brazilian Ford range, a four door sedan with a 5.0 litre V8 engine. The Landau was Ford's top model in Brazil and the only large American style sedan the company built there. Ford Brasil produced it at its São Paulo area plant for twelve years.
