1979 Dodge Challenger

Automobiles

The 1979 Challenger was the second year of the Mitsubishi built coupe sold through Dodge dealers, little changed from the first. It remained an economical compact with four cylinder engines of 1.6 and 2.6 liters, and sat alongside the Plymouth Sapporo as its twin. The car kept the frameless hardtop styling of the old Challenger but had smaller engines, a 1.6 liter and a 2.6 liter inline four instead of the slant six and V8 engines of the original, with power outputs of 77 to 105 horsepower.
