1977 was the last year that Capris were made for the US market, with 513,500 cars sold in the year. Ford tried to maintain interest in Europe in 1977 with Ford Rallye Sport, Series X and X Pack options from its performance parts range, with a glassfibre wide bodykit, uprated brakes and a limited slip differential, which were offered from 1977 to 1980 on the 3.0 liter V6 cars. They were expensive and slow selling.
