The 1976 Duster was the last model year, with amber park and turn signal lenses in the grille, a rear view mirror mounted directly to the windshield and a foot operated parking brake, and disc brakes were made standard. Special models included the Feather Duster, with lightweight aluminum parts that saved about 187 pounds. The Duster had run through seven model years since its late 1969 debut, and it competed to the end with the Ford Maverick and the AMC Hornet that had been introduced alongside it.
