A new Kingswood model, the Kingswood panel van, was introduced at the start of the HX Holden series in mid 1976. The HX series release of 1976 saw only minor updates to the exterior, notably the grille and badgework, though the Kingswood 50th Anniversary sedan came in November 1976. The 1976 HX Kingswood was a mild update with the new panel van, an Australian built Holden through the end of the series.
