The 1975 Cherokee was the second year of the two door full size SUV, based on the Wagoneer and offered with AMC six cylinder and V8 engines. With the net 215 horsepower 401 cubic inch V8 it would outrun other 4x4 vehicles in its class. It was built in Toledo, Ohio. Brake hardware was mostly General Motors equipment, with disc brakes up front, which were optional on earlier models, and drums in the rear, and all Cherokees had semi elliptical leaf springs in front and rear.
