With the memory of the oil crisis fading, Ford re-engineered the engine bay to take the 302 cubic inch V8 again for 1975, though a two barrel carburetor limited it to 140 net horsepower. Road & Track measured zero to sixty in 10.5 seconds, while Consumer Guide found the V8 sluggish. The Ghia gained small opera windows and a half roof covered in padded vinyl, a more economical 2.3 liter MPG model was added mid year, and sales fell to 199,199 from the record of 1974.
