1973 Ford Courier

Automobiles

The Courier of 1973 had greater fuel economy than the full size pickups of the day, and it was made by Mazda and imported to North America as a reply to the unforeseen popularity of small Toyota and Datsun pickups. It had a small four cylinder engine, a four speed manual and rear wheel drive. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
