In 1971 the Super Bee moved from the Coronet to the Charger's body, as the Coronet line was cut to four doors and wagons, and was promoted as the Charger line's low priced model. It was the first and only year that a small block engine, the 340 four barrel, was available, alongside the 383, 440 and 426 Hemi options. After this the Super Bee name was dropped in the United States until 2007. It was the only model year of the Charger based car, and the Super Bee name was then retired on the home market.
