The 1970 Satellite received a minor front and rear restyling on the 1968 body. It was the last year for the Belvedere name, the line that the Satellite had topped as its best trimmed model since 1965. A new design followed for 1971. The restyle was minor, and it was the last year of the Belvedere name, so the Satellite became the base of Plymouth's mid-size lineup for the 1971 redesign. The Road Runner and the GTX continued to share the same body.
