For 1970 the Mustang was restyled to look less aggressive, going back to single headlamps set inside the grille opening, with the rear fender air scoops removed and a flat taillight panel. The change followed worries that the 1969 styling had hurt sales, although 1969 in the end outsold 1970. The 351 Windsor V8 was replaced by the new 351 Cleveland, rated at 300 horsepower in its four barrel form, and Ford built 96 Twister Special Mach 1s for its Kansas City sales office.
