For the 1970 model year visible changes to the Country Squire were limited to detail changes in bumper and grille trim, and it lost the divider bar. As part of the LTD line the Country Squire wore similar interior trim to the LTD sedan, with the exception of its simulated woodgrain paneling, and the same bodywork from the windshield forward as its LTD sedan counterparts. The 390 and 429 V8 engines were options. The Country Squire was the top level Ford station wagon, distinguished by woodgrain bodyside trim.
