1970 Chevrolet El Camino

Automobiles

The 1970 models received sheet metal revisions that gave the bodies a more squared up stance, and the interiors were also redesigned. The El Camino remained on the 116 inch wheelbase of the third generation and shared its styling with the Chevelle Malibu, and the SS model, now with a 454 big block engine option, was the performance version of the El Camino in 1970. The El Camino of 1970 was built on the same Chevelle platform as in the preceding years, with a longer wheelbase than the first two generations.
