GTX sales dropped in 1969 when the Road Runner was also offered as a convertible. The GTX received minor cosmetic changes to the taillights, grille and side marker lights, an Air Grabber hood with functional openings controlled from the dash, and standard black lower body side paint. It was the last year of the GTX convertible, of which 701 were built, eleven with the Hemi. Of the 701 GTX convertibles built that year, eleven had the 426 Hemi, of which seven had TorqueFlite automatics and four had four speed manual transmissions.
