For the 1969 model year Mercury returned the Marauder nameplate as a personal luxury car, replacing the performance oriented S-55. It shared its 121 inch wheelbase with all full size Fords and Mercury's station wagons, and had a tunneled rear window with large rear flying buttresses at the C pillars and non functional louvered side air intakes. The listed retail price was 3,351 dollars. The Marauder X-100 was introduced as a higher performance version.
