A 302 cubic inch V8 with a two barrel carburetor became the standard V8 in 1969. Changes across the 1969 model line were slight and included a flatter three piece grille less the horizontal crossbar and Ford crest. A little known and extremely rare offering in 1969 was the Rio Grande, and the Ford Scrambler concept shown at the Detroit show in 1969 gave some elements to the next Ranchero models. The Ranchero was now in the Torino based fourth generation, available in 500 and GT trims with the Cobra Jet engine option.
