The 1969 F-Series had a new grille design and a new 302 Windsor V8 engine option. The rebadged Mercury M-Series, which had given Lincoln-Mercury dealers in Canada a truck to sell, was discontinued. After 1968 Ford had dropped the Low GVWR versions, but the Camper Special option, with heavy duty cooling, camper prewiring and a larger alternator, remained, and an Explorer Special trim and option package combined Ranger trim pieces with a lower price.
