Until 1968 about 196,000 CJ-3Bs were produced, of which 155,494 were assembled in the United States, and 1968 was the end of United States production of the model, although the design was licensed to several international manufacturers which produced civilian and military variants long after 1968. The CJ-3B had also become the M606 military jeep, mostly used for export through 1968, by the addition of commercially available heavy duty options.
