Deliveries of the Zephyr Mark IV estate commenced in January 1967, with cars built by E. D. Abbott of Farnham from part finished saloons. In January 1967, less than a year after the car's introduction, Ford announced that production of the Mark IVs was being cut back in response to poor sales. An automatic Ford Executive tested by Autocar in 1967 had a top speed of 100 miles per hour, with a recommended price of 1,567 pounds.
