The 1967 Ranchero was based on the post 1966 Falcon and Fairlane chassis, using the basic 1966 body with Fairlane trim, front sheet metal and interior treatments instead of Falcon. It had the largest expansion of trim levels since its introduction ten years before. The GT and GTA performance options for the Fairlane did not apply to the Ranchero, despite a common misconception, and a dual circuit braking system was used.
