The 1967 model year brought the first significant redesign of the original Mustang. The main mechanical goal was room for a big block V8, and the car grew in overall size, in interior space and in cargo space. The outside gained concave taillights, a side scoop ornament and square mirrors, while the deluxe interior dropped the embossed running horse pattern on the seat backs in favor of a new package with brushed aluminum or woodgrain dash trim.
