For 1967 the full size Chevrolets, including the Bel Air, featured a new body with bulging rear fenders, one of that year's styling trends, though not one that everyone appreciated. It was the third season of the sixth generation, which was based on the 1965 GM B platform, and the Bel Air remained in the middle of the full size range below the Impala and the Caprice Custom, a luxury model that had become its own series in 1966.
