This version of the A40 Farina Mark II remained in production until 1967. The model had been introduced as a saloon in 1958 and as the Countryman estate in 1959 by Austin as a small economy car. The Mark II sold at a slower rate than had been expected, as the A40 looked outclassed by the newer Austin 1100 introduced a year after the Morris. The Mark II was in production for six years. The Mark II ended that year.
