For 1966 the Park Lane continued as the top full size Mercury, with a roofline matching the Ford Galaxie in two door hardtop form, and the four door sedan having lost the Breezeway roofline. The Park Lane was positioned above the Montclair and Monterey, with the 390 cubic inch V8, and the Marquis was the other top series in the 1967 range. It used the same wheelbase as other Mercury lines, differing mainly in trim. The Mercury Colony Park wagon was aligned with the Park Lane.
