There was all new sheet metal on the Chrysler 300 in 1965, the year of Elwood Engel's crisp, slab sided design for every Chrysler. The Sport Series ran alongside the 300L, the last of the traditional letter series, and it was available as a hardtop coupe, a four door hardtop, a four door sedan and a convertible. With the letter series about to end, the non-letter car prepared to become the only 300.
