For 1965 the full size Chevrolet was totally restyled and the cars were stretched to 213.3 inches overall, even though the wheelbase remained the same. It was the first year of the sixth generation Bel Air, on the GM B platform that went on to be the fourth best selling automobile platform in history. The Bel Air sat below the Impala and above the Biscayne, and the Caprice luxury package had just been added at the top of the Impala line.
