The B1500 of 1964 was the BUB61, a one ton pickup with a 1,484 cc OHV water cooled engine producing 59 horsepower, and a torsion bar front, leaf spring rear suspension that was advanced for its time. The D1500 and D2000 trucks remained in production until the June 1965 introduction of the Mazda Kraft. In Japan the B series was referred to as the Mazda Proceed for much of its production. Through its association with Ford, Mazda produced the B series as the Ford Courier and the Ford Ranger.
