In October 1962 a 2 ton version, the RK100, was introduced with a 1,897 cc 3R-B engine to counter the 2 ton Nissan Junior, along with twin headlights. The RK45 Stout was the first Toyota to begin complete knock down assembly in South Africa, in 1962. It was model year 3 of 7 in the Toyota Stout (second generation, K40 and K100), 1960 to 1977, coming after the 1961 model year and before the 1963 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Stout run from 1956 to 2000.
