The 1962 Tuxedo Park Mark II continued the comfort trim line begun in 1961 for the CJ, which the sales material said was designed to make the Jeep more appealing to the general public, and the optional Perkins diesel was still offered for the CJ-5 and CJ-6 until 1965. The CJ-5 of 1962 remained a short wheelbase open Jeep with a four cylinder Hurricane engine, built by Kaiser's Willys Motors, whose Jeep vehicles were still sold chiefly as work and utility vehicles at this point in the early sixties.
