Sales for 1962 were strong at 78,011 units, including 9,884 convertibles. A high performance option added tripower, three two barrel carburetors, to a higher compression 390 engine. The Landau model with a vinyl roof and simulated S-bars on the rear pillars was introduced, starting a fashion for vinyl roofs, and so was the Sports Roadster, a limited production convertible with wire wheels and a fiberglass tonneau cover over the rear seat.
