The 700 Luxus, meaning deluxe, replaced the original saloon in 1962, giving the range a better equipped four seat body at the top of the line. The 700 was a small rear engined car on a monocoque structure, built in coupe and saloon form, and by 1962 the Luxus and the coupe were the main models in a range that had been introduced only three years earlier. The Luxus was added three years after the car was introduced in 1959.
