1961 Ford Prefect

Automobiles

The Prefect remained in production until 1961, the last year of a run that began in October 1938 and was interrupted by the war. In total 38,154 of the 107E were made, most of them in United Kingdom production in a two tone colour scheme and deluxe trim. Deluxe versions assembled in New Zealand had a rare factory fitted recirculating heater and plush carpet. The Consul Classic replaced it. The Prefect was an upmarket four door version of the Ford Anglia, built by Ford UK.
