In 1960 the 20 Series was upgraded to the now classic 40 Series, with a new steel press tooling, and the FJ40 got a 3.9 liter F engine and low range gearing for the first time. The J30, a four door wagon built on a J20 chassis, was produced only from February to October 1960 as the FJ35-V. This was the first model year of the Toyota Land Cruiser (40 series, J40), 1960 to 1966, which took over from the Toyota Land Cruiser (20 series, J20); the 1961 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Land Cruiser run from 1951 to 2026.
