For 1960 the two door Commuter was dropped from the Mercury range because it had sold just over 7,600 units in 1957 to 1959. The Commuter was now a four door hardtop wagon in the Country Cruiser series, a single tone wagon below the wood trimmed Colony Park. This was the last model year in which all Mercury station wagons were hardtops, with the retracting rear window. It was the lowest priced of the Mercury wagons, below the Colony Park.
