Restyled for 1959, the Adventurer began to look more like the up market Chrysler. The model year was introduced in October 1958, the color schemes were again limited, and the car came with the most standard features of any DeSoto, though the radio became an option. A wedge head 383 V8 tuned to 350 horsepower powered the cars, and swivel out seats were standard. Production of 687 cars, 590 hardtops and 97 convertibles, was up from 1958 but not enough to stem DeSoto's decline.
