The Australian market had factory built versions of the Consul coupe utility, or pick up, and estate car, or station wagon, as well as a locally engineered version of the saloon, built at Ford Australia's factory in Geelong. The 1958 Consul Mark II was a four cylinder car sharing its body shell with the Zephyr, with a 1703 cc, 59 horsepower engine, and they were also imported by Ford of Canada as a companion to the Falcon.
