The Stout arrived in April 1956 as the Toyopet RK23, a 1.5 ton truck and the successor of the RK truck. The RK23 used the same cabin as the Masterline coupe utility, which was derived from the short lived Master sedan. This was the first model year of the Toyota Stout (first generation, K20 and K30), 1956 to 1959, the first generation covered for the Toyota Stout; the 1957 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Stout run from 1956 to 2000.
