From April 1956 the Mark II Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac went on sale and were known as the Three Graces. The six cylinder engines were enlarged to 2,553 cc with power raised to 86 horsepower, the wheelbase increased by 3 inches to 107 inches, and top speed increased to 88 miles per hour. The Mark II Zodiac was altered with more elaborate tail end styling and a different grille, and gold plated badges. From 1956 a Borg Warner automatic was available.
