The headlamps of the E83W of 1955 were shared with the E27N tractor, for which they were an optional extra only. The van was a half ton light commercial vehicle built at Dagenham, the home of the Fordson tractors, and it was sold as a Thames at that time. It was sold as a Fordson and later as a Thames, and exported widely as Britain sought export sales after the war. The E83W was a half ton light commercial vehicle that Ford of Britain built at Dagenham, with a small side valve engine.
