The 1954 Zephyr was available as the Zephyr Six in four door saloon, estate and two door convertible bodies, the convertible being made by Carbodies with a power operated hood and the estate car by Abbotts of Farnham, sold as the Farnham. The Zephyr Zodiac, introduced in the previous autumn, had a 7.5 to 1 compression ratio instead of 6.8 to 1, increasing the maximum power to 71 horsepower. The Zephyr was an executive car from Ford of Britain, the six cylinder counterpart of the four cylinder Consul.
