1954 Ford Prefect

Automobiles

The 1954 Prefect 100E had a new side valve engine of 1172 cc having the same bore, stroke and layout as the previous engine, and a three speed gearbox, with the front seats separate and trimmed in PVC, with leather as an option, and two circular instruments in front of the driver. The gear change was floor mounted. The heater was an optional extra, and the windscreen wipers were powered by the inlet manifold vacuum. The Prefect was the four door counterpart of the Ford Anglia, built by Ford UK.
