An estate variant of the E83W was also marketed in 1949, but it did not find much success, compared with the van. The Fordson was a half ton commercial vehicle with a 1,172 cc ten horsepower engine, built at Dagenham, and it sold well to small traders. The E83W was a half ton light commercial vehicle that Ford of Britain built at Dagenham, with a small side valve engine.
