1948 Fordson E83W

Automobiles

The gearing of the E83W made the Fordson much slower than the saloons, with an effective top speed of not much over forty miles per hour in 1948. It was a van for small traders and haulage firms, built by Ford of Britain at Dagenham, with a 30 horsepower side valve engine. The E83W was a half ton light commercial vehicle that Ford of Britain built at Dagenham, with a small side valve engine. It was sold as a Fordson and later as a Thames, and exported widely as Britain sought export sales after the war.
