The Rover 16 was put back into production in 1945 following the Second World War, after the production of civilian automobiles had been interrupted in 1940, and it remained on sale until it was replaced by the Rover P3 in 1948. It was a medium sized family car of the prewar design, with the Rover 14 sold as a lower priced car with the same body and a different engine. The Rover 14 was sold with the same body but a smaller engine.
