For 1937 the Lincoln-Zephyr two door sedan was renamed the Coupe Sedan, and a three window Coupe was added along with a formal Town Limousine. The Zephyr had succeeded in reigniting sales at Lincoln dealerships in the late 1930s, bridging the gap in size and price between the Ford V8 DeLuxe and the Lincoln Model K, as a second model line for the Lincoln division of Ford. The Zephyr name came from the Greek word for the west wind.
